Nglanggeran The Rocky Mountain
Nglanggeran mountain situated in the village Nglanggeran, District Patuk Gunungkidul. Located in the northern region Baturagung Gunungkidul with an altitude between 200-700 m above sea level with average air temperature of 23 ˚ C – 27 ˚ C, the distance traveled 20 km from the city Wonosari and 25 km from the city of Yogyakarta. Nglanggeran is a rocky mountain formed by volcanic activities and compression tectonic during formation of Java Island in millions of years ago, This rocky mountain is a very beautiful natural place to visit. This place the air is fresh and is very suitable to be an alternative natural attractions as it is very easy to climb up, and as to do soft trekking it need approx 45 minutes to reach the summit pass through a staircase path and wooden stairs until the top where we can witness the most amazing scenery in surroundings, on the north, we can see Mount Merapi with its fumaroles and on the western we can see city of Yogyakarta.
